Chemistry in Externally Irradiated Disks

External radiation from nearby massive stars can dramatically alter the chemistry of planet-forming disks. This project investigates how intense UV fields shape the molecular composition of these disks and influence their potential for planet formation.

The Missing Sulfur Problem

Planet-forming environments show a puzzling depletion of sulfur compared to the interstellar medium. This project investigates the processes controlling sulfur's distribution and their implications for planetary composition.

Molecular Asymmetries in Disks

ALMA observations have revealed striking asymmetries in how molecules are distributed in protoplanetary disks. This project investigates why these asymmetries exist and explores how they might influence the chemical composition of forming planets.
